The Fault in Our Stars Movie Update

nerdfighters rules Hello Fellow BookNerds!

My apologies for neglecting to post yesterday; that seven page essay wasn’t going to write itself. However, to make up for my absence, I bring you some big news!

If you are a big fan of John Green’s newest book The Fault in Our Stars, then you will be excited to know that they have decided on who will be directing the movie based on this best selling novel. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie will be directed by non other than writer/director Josh Boone.

Josh-Boone-The-Fault-In-Our-Stars-Director-big-feature For those of you unfamiliar with the book, the bottom line is that it is a romance story between a terminally ill cancer patient and a boy from her cancer support group, exploring their relationship as they try to come to terms with their illnesses. It is smart, witty and an emotional roller coaster right to the very end, with memorable characters and equally memorable quotes:

“My thoughts are stars I cannot fathom into constellations”

– John Green, The Fault in Our Stars

I find myself constantly recommending this book to everyone I meet, which I don’t tend to do with too many other books. That’s because this is one of those love stories that only comes about once in a lifetime, a story that cannot be duplicated while maintaining the same je ne sais quoi that John Green brings to all of his novels.

I haven’t found any concrete information concerning the actors who will be taking on the roles of Hazel and Augustus, but there has been some speculation that Hazel might be played by actress Shailene Woodley, most well known for her role in “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” and “The Descendants”.

Shailene Woodley The Descendants This is only speculation, though. There doesn’t seem to be any confirmations at this stage, but there is no doubt that this movie will become a reality in the near future.

That’s all for today. I will continue to keep you updated on the progress of this film, but if any of you happen to know something that I don’t, feel free to comment about it, or post it on the facebook page. Until next time, happy reading!
